Biography[]

Background[]

In 289 TP, Richard bought and renovated a former warehouse that soon became the Laboratory of the Unexplainable. He petitioned to the government of Silivia — presenting a comprehensive plan for a laboratory investigating the effects of the portal from Eden, specializing in demons, angels, and Xeren's soul. In 295 TP, Richard bought an old weather monitoring station, which became known as the Nikaea Observatory, with hopes of further studying Xeren's soul.

In 298 TP, he met Binita Navani, a geologist stationed in eastern Thales tasked with researching lithological changes due to the portal. Enthralled by the similarities between their fields of work, he quickly fell in love with her. The couple married in 300 TP.

After the deaths of Richard's brother and sister-in-law in an act of arson in 307 TP, Richard and Binita adopted their niece and nephew, Melissa and Steven Devlin.

In 316 TP, Binita began exhibiting signs of a prolonged illness and eventually succumbed to it a few months later. After a few weeks of contentious arguments and funeral proceedings, Richard got into a significant argument with Melissa, who soon secretly left home to join the Ackerman Militia against his wishes. After the disappearance of Melissa, Richard would often search for her throughout Silivia while continuing his research at the lab.

Trivia[]

  • Richard enjoys long walks across western Silivia in the early morning.
  • Richard presented an office to Steven in the Laboratory of the Unexplainable for his eighteenth birthday.
