Wellington Robotics Android #1, known by the nickname "Charles Wellington", is the first android ever built by Andrew Wellington, and the only one to survive to the present day other than Chris. Unlike Chris, Charles lacks emotions and is thus unable to override his core programming on his own. He first appears in Season Two, where Dexter Wellington reprograms him to help the Search Party locate the Port City Eight.

Appearance

Charles appears to be a very tall young man with pale skin and combed-back orange hair. He wears a black and blue full-body jumpsuit suit with the WR logo on it. However, his most intimidating feature is his piercing eyes, brown with a reddish tint.

Background

Andrew Wellington's first successful creation, Charles was programmed with one goal in mind: To annihilate Gabriel Alchemilia and anything affiliated or connected with him. Despite his rapidly failing mind, Andrew knew that he did not want Charles targeting innocent civilians, so he installed a memory failsafe inside of Charles' head. Charles would occasionally receive programming upgrades from Andrew, especially for times when Andrew had to leave. However, as he opened a factory to make the androids, Andrew started to forget this objective, though most of his androids were scrapped failures.

However, everything changed when Andrew went on a day trip and saw his teenage children, Chad and Hailey, with his ex-wife, Lillian. Chad looked very much like him, and Lillian was with another man. When Andrew had returned, he found his laboratory in total chaos from him not being able to monitor the android combat training. Even worse, Chris, his smartest android, had been destroyed in the water. Altering Charles' programming so he would clean the Wellington Robotics Factory and dismissing Charles from his service, Andrew replaced both him and Chris with a single android: Chris Wellington.

During his years working in the Wellington Robotics Factory, Charles rarely, if ever, received any visitors, aside from some squatters.

Abilities

Unlike Chris, Charles cannot smell. However, he does have greatly enhanced strength and is able to run at exceptional speeds. Charles also has fingers that can turn into knives if needed. Due to the time he has spent cleaning the Wellington Robotics Factory, however, many of his abilities have begun fading, as Andrew never found a way to make them permanent.
